As the title implies, Daria follows Daria Morgendorffer and her 'bitter 90's cynicism' perspective. Taking place during her high school years - Daria is considered an outcast, especially when compared to her peers; including her Vice-President of The Fashion Club sister, Quinn.
Quinn, just like her sister, is a central character in the show and a great contrast to the cerebral character of Daria. * Think Modern Family - if the show followed the Dunphey's via the point of view of Alex.

Although the show follows Daria, the side characters are just as important in the flow of the show. They are all well written and perfectly defined in their roles. Conversations between all these social dynamics don't get dumbed down and are usually quite complex with sly remarks being thrown in regularly.
More than anything, this show is so feminist and modern day #woke. In the most absolutely cool effortless way. Daria is labeled by Co-Creator, Susie Lewis Lynn, as a show 'for the girls' as it's a spinoff of Beavis & Butthead, 'a show for the boys'. So although it wasn't on accident, many have tried & many have failed.

The style of animation is also something to appreciate, do they even do that anymore? It feels as though everyone on the show really cared about the big picture and it's impact. Fucking rocked it. And although I would love for there to be more episodes for me to watch - can it be done?
